About Haley

Haley is a seasoned and award-winning communications professional. She has served in both execution and strategy roles with nonprofit organizations and news outlets for the past 14 years. Most recently, Haley served at the head of fundraising & external communications for a $13 million restoration & conservation organization. Prior to her eight-year tenure there, she was a writer and brand manager for a multi-state environmental organization in Boston developing collateral and messaging for some of the world’s most pressing campaigns. She has completed two fellowships with international environmental organizations. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University and recently completed a certificate in Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University.

Haley has directed the development of award-winning impact reports, produced moving video and photography, told stories that center people and outcomes, landed national media, and built the strategies behind the scenes that guarantee the right content gets the right heads nodding and hearts pumping. After being approached by numerous organizations seeking the type of communications materials and strategy she was offering in her full-time role, she founded Sawdust Storytelling. Today, Haley and a set of creative partners provide innovative storytelling products & strategy for impactful organizations and businesses.
